Welcome to the first Elstow CC Monthly E Newsletter! I realise we are all really busy and don’t get time to tell everyone what is going on at the Club, so as a Club we decided to send out this E-Newsletter after every monthly Club Management Committee meeting. I hope you enjoy it!
Monthly Working Party
Given all the work we need to do to maintain the facilities, with pressing jobs such as fixing our second sightscreen, laying the Astroturf on the bowler’s run ups to the nets, and fixing the nets to the frame, we have decided to hold monthly working parties to get these jobs done. The first working group is to be held next Wednesday evening (11th of July) from 6pm to 8pm. Please come down and help out!
Website
As you might have realised our website needs some work. We need content, so if any of you have anything to submit (photos, articles, anything!) then please let us know. If you have any ideas for the website, or know how to do more technical work on it then let us know. Our Website uses WordPress so anyone familiar with this then please let me know.
Coaching Courses and One to One coaching
Bedfordshire Cricket have announced their winter coaching courses so if anyone wants to take a coaching course please let me know and I will provide the details. The Club will pay for the cost of the course on the basis that those who take part help with coaching our players.
If anyone wants some one to one training, then our resident Aussie Rob Leddy is the man to get in touch with. Please call him on +37254374200, or let me know and I can have him contact you.
Senior Prizegiving
We have finalised the Senior end of season dinner and prizegiving, which will take place at the Park Pub and Kitchen on Kimbolton Road on Saturday the first of September. Details to follow, though please let us know asap if you are planning to attend.
Junior Prizegiving/Club Day
We have yet to finalise the end of season day for the U10s, U12s, and U14s, though we envisage a day of matches, including parents, a bbq and of course photos and prizes.
Help!
As always we need assistance with the juniors on match days and training. Umpiring, scoring, providing teas and coffees are all things that we need parents to help with, so let us know if there is anything we can do to enable you to assist with this, and if you want to help but need some guidance. If the weather ever clears up it would be great to have a bbq on a Friday evening for training, but we do need someone to help with it while we are coaching.
Young Adult Volunteering Opportunities
As a Club we take part in the Vinspired Volunteering programme where we track the volunteering efforts of our youngsters. If you want to find out more about this programme then let me know. We particularly want our U14s and U16s to help out with U10 and U12 training, and also on our monthly working group evenings.

Elstow Shirts
Could anyone who is has not yet received an Elstow shirt please let us know, and we will do what we can to arrange one.
Junior Match Reports
It would be great to have our youngsters, or parents, provide match reports on our Junior matches. As you can see from the website we are ok with match reports for senior matches, but it would be great to add reports from our Junior matches.
Feedback
Thanks for sticking with this! The last thing I would ask for is feedback on the Club, and what you think we could do to improve the Club. What do you want from your Club? What could we do better, and how could we improve? Any feedback or comments on this are appreciated.
Thanks for your time, and see you down at the Club!
G Couling
