Excitement Grows in Anticipation of the New Season!

Elstow Cricket Club is pleased to announce that we will start our eagerly anticipated Summer Youth Cricket Program on Friday the 20th of April! If you want your children to get some exercise, have lots of fun, and learn to play Cricket in the Spirit of the Game, then come on down to our first session on the 20th of April or contact us by email or phone!

Cricket is available for children in School Years 1 and up (and younger if we get enough interest!). Training will be held on Fridays, with Under 10s and Under 12s training starting at 5.30pm and finishing at 7pm, and Under 14s and Under 16s running from 6.30pm until 8pm (light permitting). Training will run every Friday throughout summer, including during School Holidays.

We will be running five Youth Teams, Under 10s, 12s, 14s, and 16s. We will also run a Development Team on Sundays, which will be a mix of U14s, U16s, and adults, playing 40 over per innings matches to bridge the gap between youth cricket and adult cricket. Youth Membership will be £35 for the season, which includes an Elstow CC cricket shirt. There are no extra charges for training; however we will be introducing a £2 match fee for all youth teams.

We have lots of cool new equipment to make the sessions even more fun, including a new Astroturf pitch for U10 and U12 matches, a slip catching cradle, and a new training aid that promises to revolutionise local cricket- our exclusive gutterboards! We are particularly keen to add to our U10 and U16 squads, however please note that we do have limited numbers per squad, so if you can’t make it on the 20th and are eager to join, then please let us know.

Players or volunteers who want to get involved in our Senior Cricket squads are also welcome, so if you are interested then please contact us. Our Saturday sides start their season on 28th April in the Four Counties Cricket League and are in action all summer until the first weekend in September.

The Development XI have fixtures in mid-summer on Sundays in the Bedfordshire Development League. There will hopefully be capacity for a few friendly fixtures in a cricket crammed summer, check out the website for details. Training will be held midweek from 18.30 for our senior teams.
