Elstow U10 v Flitwick
Sunday 22nd May 2011
This week captained by Adam Wilson the team visited Flitwick at Wrest Park. A windy morning with tough playing conditions and one short rain interruption did not discourage the boys.
Losing the toss Elstow were put in to bat and scored steadily through the twenty overs. Usman hitting seven runs including one four and Lewis unbeaten with a score of five. Adam hit some good runs in the final pairing bringing the Elstow total to 143. The main setback for the team was five run outs most of which were avoidable.
With a tough target to defend Elstow bowled the first four overs taking three wickets for the fifteen runs conceded. Another three wickets were taken with an impressive caught behind by Adam and a middle stump yorker by Jack but the boys were unable to keep the Flitwick team from scoring and the match finished with Elstow losing by 27 runs.
A very exciting game with some great cricket from both teams.
