Winning Start for Elstow Under 10′s

Elstow U10 v Langford

Sunday 15th May 2011

A bright but rather windy morning saw the first U10 game for Elstow at home this summer.

Euan was captaining the team and after winning the toss elected to bowl. Some great all round effort from the team restricted Langford to 154 runs loosing seven wickets, two difficult catches were almost taken and three run outs secured. Special mention to Adam Wilson who took one wicket during his over and the captain who had the best bowling figures on the day with 1 for 6 off 3. The focus for the boys is the bowling direction as 36 extras were conceded as wides.

Ben Lewis and Daniel Watson opened the batting and got Elstow off to a good start, Ben hitting the seasons first four for us in the first over. Each batting pair scored well and took some good quick singles and a few rather rash chaotic runs much to the delight of the spectators. The match concluded with a four from Euan bringing Elstow’s total to 201.

A win for Elstow by 46 runs; well done to all the boys.
