Welcome To Elstow Cricket Club: The 3Ms Trophy, It’s Almost Here!

In a fortnight’s time, Elstow Cricket Club take on the world. Well, part of it anyway. To celebrate the visit of our two favourite cricketing opposition nations, Elstow CC will be holding our own Tri series tournament; The Martin, Mullally, McGrath Trophy, in veneration of the batting skills of these great number 11s!

That’s right, the Mighty Elstow will play an invitational Kiwi team and an Aussie team in a 20/20 festival of cricket, to be held at the Warren on Friday the 28th and Saturday the 29th of June, at the end of the Kiwi tour and the beginning of the Aussie tour for the honour of lifting the inaugural 3Ms Trophy. One match will be played on the Friday evening under floodlights, with two further round robin matches and a final on the Saturday.

The games themselves will go alongside a veritable party atmosphere: beer tents, live music, a fundraising auction and even a temporary stand to house the inevitable hordes of supporters throughout the weekend.

The goal is to raise money for further development of Elstow CC.

Any Aussies or Kiwi cricketers who want to play or support should contact us at elstowcricketclub@hotmail.co.uk. If any Beige Brigade boys or Aussie Fanatics find themselves on tour in England next Summer, or for those that have settled down here, they would be welcomed with open arms and looked after with the kind of friendliness not seen since Ashley Giles’ straight-breaks.
